Brainspotting Treatment throughout Maryland

Are you the person who is always looking to try out new things? The person who is looking for something other than talk therapy as usual? Or are you the person who is looking to do deep work as quickly as possible, because you’re in a hurry to feel better fast?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, Brainspotting might be for you!

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting (BSP) is a type of therapy that was developed by Dr. David Grand in 2003. Specific eye positions are utilized to help individuals access, process, and release difficult thoughts and emotions that are stored in the brain and body. Brainspotting can help individuals identify and process unresolved issues, increase self-awareness, and reduce symptoms such as anxiety and trauma. It can also be used in conjunction with other forms of talk therapy.

Due to the specialized training required and relative newness of this approach, there are a limited number of clinicians in the Greater Baltimore area who offer it as a treatment option. LifeSpring is proud to be one of the few innovative offices in the Baltimore, Maryland area to offer online Brainspotting services.

How do I know if Brainspotting is right for me?

Brainspotting is a therapy that can be beneficial for individuals who are struggling with a wide-range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress. It can be helpful for those who have experienced physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, or who have difficulty regulating their emotions. Brainspotting can also be helpful for indivudals who are struggling with performance or creative blocks, as it can help to identify and release unresolved issues that may be impacting your ability to function effectively. Overall, Brainspotting is a flexible therapy that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual client.

If you are open to trying something other than talk therapy, we encourage you to give Brainspotting a try. If you are ready to do deep work, so you can feel better, we’ll be here to help you get started!

Brainspotting and Highly Sensitive Topics and Information

Brainspotting allows clients to process their trauma without having to do a lot of talking. This can be great for people who do not wish to share the details of traumatic events out loud. For this same reason, Brainspotting is ideal for those who wish to process work-related trauma that is highly confidential in nature. Government employees, police officers, and health professionals may consider BSP helpful due to how little is shared to the therapist.
