Hi, my name is Caroline Masucci and I am a licensed certified social worker-clinical (LCSW-C) based in the Greater Baltimore area.
A certain amount of worrying is normal, right? Anxiety and fear keep us out of harm’s way. However, it no longer serves us when anxiety and fear rule our days and nights, preventing us from living our lives to the fullest.
Transitioning through life stages can bring about feelings of distress for all ages. I specialize in working across lifespans - adults, adolescents, and children. I am well trained to address distress built through anxiety, as it correlates to depression, and self-esteem. I can help strengthen confidence in one’s ability to succeed with change.
When working with adolescents and adults, my approach utilizes cognitive behavioral therapies and mindfulness. While working with children I often use play therapy and literature therapy. Within family therapy, I hope to strengthen familial relationships and improve day-to-day cohesiveness.
I currently work with children and adolescents 8+ years of age and older to provide them with the skills and extra support to navigate anxiety and depression. I can assist them in raising their self-esteem and self-advocacy skills. Many children need assistance in developing effective communication skills to build positive relationships with peers and adults. It’s a practiced, learned skill! I also have experience in assisting young adults in developing healthy routines incorporating the use of exercise and sleep hygiene to effect positive change.
I was an early childhood educator before becoming a mental health provider. My favorite part of teaching was the relationships that I formed with my students and their families. The unconditional positive rapport that I build with my clients is my greatest attribute as a therapist. This is invaluable when facing things that are unsettling or anxiety producing.
I am here to offer a new perspective and alternative ideas to help expand your well-being in life. I offer a warm environment where unconditional positive regard is at the heart of our future success within the therapeutic alliance.
