LifeSpring’s Approach to Depression Treatment

After an initial assessment, we will help determine if you're experiencing depression. We can also help determine if medication might be helpful for managing symptoms, if you're open to it. If open, we can offer referrals to local providers who will provide you with the right medication for you. You can trust that you will have a supportive and judgement-free space to talk about your experiences. A therapist can help you notice inaccurate and self-critical thoughts you are expressing. They can also teach you skills for addressing those negative thoughts. Our therapists can introduce you to coping strategies that help improve mood, energy, sleep, and more. At the end of the day, we work closely with you to ensure your services are meeting your unique needs.

What is Holding You Back from Starting Counseling for Depression?

There are SO many things that we allow to interfere with our self-care and growth. Such as having little time, being nervous about your first counseling appointment, and fearing judgment. Not believing that we are worth the time, energy, or money spent on counseling can also get in the way. At LifeSpring, we want you to know that you DO matter, and you ARE worth prioritizing! You ARE worth the time, energy, and money that you will invest into feeling better. We are in network with CareFirst/BCBS, so counseling services are more affordable.

The hopelessness that often accompanies depression can lead us to believe many things. That there’s no use in trying, that things will not get any better, and that there’s no hope. At LifeSpring, we want you to know that there is hope, that help is available, and that it IS possible for you to feel better. In fact, we’ve helped other people work through depression as well. Once people start feeling better, they often report feeling like “the fog has lifted.” They may notice being less tearful and able to recognize negative self-talk.
